A Medieval Dinner Theater presented by LPCC & Friends

On March 13th - 15th, guests were treated to a real Medieval Banquet at the Live Oak UMC Family Life Center as a fundraiser event for the Livingston Parish Children's Choir. Dinner was Cornish Game Hen served without silverware just as they did in the day. Dinner was served by LPCC members dressed as children of the town. Not only did they serve the food, but they also sang songs, sold bouquets of flowers and other wares, as well as "begged."  While eating, guests were entertained by jugglers and acrobats, but most importantly, a play.  Rev. Mark Crosby and his wife Terrie played the King and Queen of "Watsonshire."  They hosted a joust which was the cause of the arrival of the King and Queen of "Livingstonshire," played by Sheriff Willie Graves and Terrilee Haley, to watch their son compete.  In true "Monty-Pythonish" fashion, the show was non-stop fun from beginning to end!  Other players included Dr. Durwin Walker, Shelby Rushing, and Tim McGibboney.  The play was directed by Dinah Toups and the choirs were directed by Melanie Rushing and Barbara Walker.

JADD Prom Fashion Show 2008 - "Almost Broadway"

"Almost Broadway" T-Shirts For Sale!

As the curtain went up on February 25th in the Jacket Gym, the audience knew they were in for a treat! The JADD Club ( a member of the SADD organization - Students Against Destructive Decisions ) presented their "Almost Broadway" production - the club's anti-drinking campaign for a safe prom season. It's hard to believe that they only spent one weekend preparing for the show! Performing hits from such shows as Grease, Hairspray, Cats and The Phantom of the Opera, it was not a typical fashion show. In fact, it was more of a musical extravaganza! Students not only built the set of a "cityscape," but also choregraphed the dance numbers and sang many of the songs themselves. Sponser Elise LeBlanc said, "I am so proud of the members of this club! People who come to the show are always shocked when they find out that the students only have one weekend to prepare for the show!" While guests were being entertained by the singing and dancing, the co-hosts, Cameron Walls and Cara Long, kept the message of staying away from "destructive decisions" in the forefront.
